This year's Honorees are Kevin and Sari O'Connor. Kevin O'Connor is a well respected business leader in the Capital Region, co-founder and CEO of TechValley Communications and former President of the Center for Economic Growth. Sari O'Connor is Chief Development Officer with Northeast Parent and Child Society and has dedicated her career to the well being of children and young adults. Together, Kevin and Sari support families, community and economic matters in the Capital Region. We are thrilled to have Kevin and Sari partner with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to help us raise funds for CF research.
CF is a genetic disease affecting 30,000 children and adults in the United States. It causes the body to produce abnormally thick, sticky mucus, which leads to chronic and life-threatening lung infections and impairs digestion. Since 1955 when the Foundation was established, the mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a nonprofit donor-supported organization, has been to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease. Despite all of the breakthroughs in research, we continue to lose precious lives. The money we raise at events like the 65 Roses Gala contributes to life-saving research and treatments.

Led by long time Silver Bay resident, Sandra Coffin, Prometheus Brass is made up of active freelance musicians from the greater New York area. Now in their 18th year together, they have been featured on numerous concert series, including Concerts at Trinity Wall Street, Columbia University, The Ticonderoga Festival Guild, Saugerties Pro Musica, and Grace Memorial Chapel; they have appeared live on the Morning Show on WAMC Public Radio. Prometheus Brass maintains an active schedule of public outreach concerts and educational presentations in a wide variety of locations throughout the tri-state area.
Grace Chapel was founded in 1884 as a summer chapel to serve the residents and guests of the area now known as Silver Bay and Sabbath Day Point. It was designed by William B. Tuthill, the architect for Carnegie Hall in New York, who donated his architectural services to the creation of this chapel. The Chapel was pre-cut, with all the timbers for the framing, roof, flooring, beams, brackets and millwork brought in from New York, then delivered by train and boat to Sabbath Day Point, where the Chapel was constructed by workmen from Ticonderoga. The Chapel has been placed on both the State and National Registers of Historic Places because of its beauty, its age and the fact that it represented an early work of William B. Tuthill.
